Pocono Maple Water

A portion of proceeds from Pocono Maple Water supports the creation of the Firefly Sanctuary—a protected area within the forest at Pocono Mountain Farms.

Our goal is to restore native groundcover, reduce artificial light, and keep the forest quiet enough for fireflies to thrive. This is one way we give back— not just by gathering what the forest provides, but by protecting what it depends on.

Follow along as the Firefly Sanctuary begins to take shape.

The Firefly Sanctuary

at Pocono Mountain Farms

Maple trees do more than produce sap. They create a layered forest—shaded, moist, and undisturbed— that makes space for other life to thrive.

Fireflies are one of the species that rely on those conditions.

They live close to the ground, among leaf litter and tree roots, in places where the soil stays damp and the nights stay dark.

That kind of habitat is vanishing.

Across the U.S., firefly populations are declining because of pesticide use, development, and light pollution.

Many are losing their ability to glow.

We’re helping to change that.
